Our Lady, Queen of Peace

Catholic Homeschoolers in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago

Mission and Membership

ABOUT THE GROUP: Our group is Catholic in character, and consists of practicing Catholic home schooling families. A primary purpose of the group is to build up the kingdom of God on earth by raising children who are strong in the practice and knowledge of their Catholic faith. We offer support and information to parents, and provide social, academic, and spiritual opportunities for our children. Our group is a cooperative one, dependent on its members for the planning of all our activities. We ask members to take on two obligations: the payment of $15 dues, and the planning of one field trip or event for the group. (New and expectant mothers, and those with group jobs, are exempt from this obligation.) We have too many members for everyone to plan her own event, so teaming up is suggested. No one is required to attend meetings. New members are welcome. If you or a friend is thinking of joining the group, we suggest you "try us out" for a month or so. Attend a meeting and a field trip, and talk to some of the moms. To join, fill out a registration form and give your $15 dues to our treasurer.

Please contact us for further information.

Meetings

We meet in Palatine on the 4th Thursday evening of each month, with the following exceptions: no meeting in June or November; the December meeting takes place on the first Thursday; and the March or April meeting will be rescheduled when Holy Thursday falls on a 4th Thursday.

Please contact us to confirm an upcoming meeting date.

Meetings will begin with the Chaplet of Divine Mercy at 7:30 PM. We will then discuss our topic for the month and take care of group business. New homeschoolers with urgent questions will be given time to ask them.
